Welcome to Visiting Nurse
To me, hospice is more than just a medical term: it’s a philosophy that everyone deserves dignity and compassion when faced with a life-limiting illness. At Visiting Nurse, we care for every patient with an individualized plan of care. We learn what’s most important to them and help to support them on their journey. We ensure that each patient and their family are treated with respect and love.
Eric Klimes, CEO Visiting Nurse
Hospice care is a comprehensive program of care led by a team of medical experts that allows individuals and their families to focus on living life as fully as possible. More than 1.6 million Americans received hospice care in 2015, yet there is much misinformation about how hospice care can help dying patients. Read on to learn the truth about hospice care.
Visiting Nurse provides the only free-standing inpatient hospice unit in the region. Our 14 beds are used by patients whose symptoms may need more intensive treatment than can be managed in the home or who may be admitted for respite care. Our facility is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and visitors are welcome at any time.
