Accountant

Visiting Nurse is looking for an organized and driven Staff Accountant to join our growing team at Visiting Nurse. Our finance department keeps Visiting Nurse running smoothly so we can deliver the best care to our patients. The Staff Accountant position will work closely with our Finance Director and other operations personnel and handle day-to-day bookkeeping. Visiting Nurse delivers a different kind of health care and we are looking for a passionate individual to join our organization and revitalize our record keeping and bring more organization to our day-to-day financials.

This person is responsible for the general accounting functions of Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home and the Visiting Nurse Foundation. Duties include account reconciliations, third party billing, accounts payable, budgeting, preparation of monthly financial statements and assist with annual audits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor in Accounting; minimum of five (5) years prior accounting experience

Proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, general accounting and billing software

Attention to detail, strong understanding of accounting controls, ability to work independently, ability to identify areas for process improvement

Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the health and/or safety of self or others in the workplace

    Visiting Nurse is seeking a Senior Director of Quality, Education and Compliance to continue our tradition of providing excellent service to our patients and their families. This person is responsible for the safe and effective delivery of all agency clinical services.
    Qualifications include: Current RN license to practice in the state of Indiana, minimum of 5 years experience as a professional nurse, with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing or working toward comparable degree.     Visiting Nurse is seeking a full-time Senior Director of Quality, Education & Compliance. This person is responsible for the maintenance of an ongoing and effective data-driven Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program that reflects the complexity of hospice and home health organization and its services. Will also ensure that visiting Nurse remains compliant with all rules and regulations as set forth by regulatory bodies. Will provide continuing education to Visiting Nurse staff and its community partners as needed, related to compliance and QAPI.

This person will provide all social service intervention for patients and their families who are enrolled in an agency program as appropriate, provide education/consultation to all staff and volunteers to aid in grief and loss issues, provide education in the community on agency programs and end-of-life issues.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Masters’ degree in Social Work required from an accredited school of social work for palliative care program. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work required from an accredited school of Social Work for hospice program. Minimum of one (1) year experience in provision of medical social work services, or has a Baccalaureate degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work and is employed by hospice prior to December 2, 2008 and is not required to be supervised by an MSW.

    Must have knowledge and ability to determine appropriate social service roles required to assist patient/family in maximizing the independent functioning that was impaired by physical illness of the patient.

    Concrete services include meals, finances, benefits, entitlements, funeral planning, volunteer services.

    Counseling services focus on addressing fear, powerlessness, anger, apathy, hopelessness, and facilitate communication and understanding among family members. Must hold Indiana license or temporary licensure and actively working on permanent license.

    Ability to function independently and to work with medical professionals in the community.

    Ability to establish rapport with a wide variety of individuals.

    Visiting Nurse is seeking an RN to be the primary on call RN three nights per week. This position provides nursing care while on call by assessing needs, making appropriate revisions and evaluating outcomes of care.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

    Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.

    Prefer one (1) year of recent hospital or home health care experience.

    Must have current RN license to practice in the state of Indiana.

    Infusion skills preferred.

    Ability to recognize needs and emergencies of hospice patients and provide appropriate interventions.
