Giving Impact

Your unrestricted gift supports programs and services that are essential to Visiting Nurse’s ability to always improve the care we provide the patients and families we serve.

Your unrestricted gift will help support our Inpatient Care Center, The Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center, the specialized and unique services we provide our veteran patients and families, or patients and families that would not otherwise have the resources to pay for their care. Unrestricted philanthropy supports all of this and more!

Where Does the Money Go?

In 2016, The Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center saw :

individuals attend community grief presentations
individual counseling sessions take place

individuals attended support group meetings

All of these services are provided at NO CHARGE to any adult who has experienced the loss of a loved one.

Because of your generosity, Visiting Nurse provided over

worth of charity care to patients who did not have the ability to pay in 2016.

In 2016
music therapy sessions

Music Therapy

Music therapy is another offering provided by Visiting Nurse for both patients and grief clients. In 2016, over 1,100 music therapy sessions took place. Each session is unique and is specific to the individual needs of each patient. Music can engage every part of the brain, and it is able to reach in and connect with the patient in ways that other forms of therapy cannot access. Music therapy in the hospice setting provides pain relief, opportunities to reminisce and comfort at the end of life.

Your gift provides support to families, care to patients and a life line to those adults in our community who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Without your generosity, none of these offerings would have been possible.
