Ways to Give

Your Gifts Touch Lives

You have many options when choosing to give back to your community, we are thankful for your interest in Visiting Nurse Foundation.
You can DONATE online or learn about the many ways you can give to Visiting Nurse Foundation.

Giving by cash, check or credit card is one of the most common and easiest ways to make an outright charitable contribution to Visiting Nurse Foundation.
If you itemize tax deductions on your tax return, the first tangible benefit you receive when making an annual gift by cash, check or credit card is a tax deduction for the value of your gift. The second benefit is seeing the immediate results of your generosity. When you make an annual gift, you are demonstrating a strong commitment to the patients, families and grief clients we serve each day.

Some of the gifts Visiting Nurse Foundation receives are those given in memory of a friend, family member or loved one. When a loved one passes away, Visiting Nurse would like to help you honor and/or pay tribute to their life. All memorial gifts will be acknowledged with a letter to the person you designate. Please tell us whom you wish to remember, and the name and address of the person we should notify of your gift.

Pay tribute to the important people in your life with a gift to Visiting Nurse Foundation. Tribute gifts may honor a friend, family member, or loved one. Tribute gifts may also celebrate a birthday or special anniversary date.

Endowments assist with the long term financial sustainability of any nonprofit organization. Visiting Nurse Foundation currently has two funds established: The Grief Center Endowment Fund and the Phyllis Hermann Endowed Hospice Fund. The earnings from these funds assist with both the costs associated with grief services and assistance for hospice patients who do not have the ability to pay for care and services.
Individuals now have the ability to establish endowed funds in memory and in honor of their loved ones which will exist in perpetuity. The minimum for establishment is $25,000.

Each year Visiting Nurse holds special events to raise awareness and support for our programs and services.

A Toast to Life: A Food and Beer Pairing event will take place on Sunday, September 17, 2017 and features a six course specialty dinner with each course complimented with a craft beer selection. Experts from Five Star Distributing will discuss the attributes, brewing techniques and history of each drink selection! A Toast to Life is a wonderful event that includes a great meal, silent auction and testimonial from an individual who has been directly impacted by the care that Visiting Nurse delivers to our patients and families.

Holiday Memorial Tree will take place on Sunday, November 19, 2017. This annual event presents an opportunity to honor a friend or memorialize a loved one with a light glowing brightly at the Holiday Memorial Tree located at the Baker Street Train Station. The lighting ceremony includes performances by the Fort Wayne Children’s Chamber Choir, a testimonial from an indvidual who has experienced our services firsthand and a moment of silence and reflection to remember those we have loved and lost.
